Residents of the North Coast have six weeks to take advantage of the opportunity to make your best case to the Prince Rupert Regional Community Foundation towards their Grant program.
April 30th is the Closing Date for applications to the program, which offers financial assistance towards a range of initiatives in the Region.
Among the list of areas where the Funds can be put to use:
Educational needsSocial welfare and health issues
Programs for aged
Programs for the disabled
Preservation and protection of environment
Advancement of the arts
Prevention of delinquency
Prevention of substance abuse
Relief of poverty
The Foundation program notes that it will only consider grant applications to fund the acquisition or repair of fixed or tangible assets and will not consider requests to fund ongoing programs or general operating expenses.
The PRRCF distributed over 26,000 dollars in the last year, as part of four grants awarded in the community.
To give you an idea as to where some of their funds have been distributed in the past, a recent Social media post from the organization highlights some of the community ventures that they have helped in recent times.
$1,400 to Prince Rupert and District Hospice Society for a new Colour Printer, Laminator and a 36" Banner with Stand and case.
$2,650 to Transition Prince Rupert for a mural project. Undertaken by Transition Prince Rupert and Northern Health, the project will brighten up a common outdoor area of Acropolis Manor. The mural will be created by local artist Chris Fraser, with the theme of a forest/local animal.
$20,000 to Cloudberry Trail by giving a gift that will inspire, support and engage Cloudberry Trail Art Installation.
$2,225.58 North Coast Mountain Bike Association Pump Track Park
