City Council Preview: Monday, May 8 2017.

Reports and updates dominate much of the Prince Rupert City Council session for this evening, with a number of city departments putting together briefings for council members.

A second proposal for Seniors housing will make for some of the theme to this evening's City Council session, with the City Planner set to recommend that a proposal for the old Neptune Motor hotel from Macro properties move to the public hearing phase for review.

The Neptune proposal makes for the second Seniors housing initiative that council will have considered in the last two weeks, at the April 24th Council session, City council members reviewed the background to the proposed Elders/Seniors Village proposed for the city's east side by the Metlakatla Development corporation

Council will also receive a fairly extensive overview of the city's Community Energy and Emissions program, that report to be provided by the City's Manager for Community Development.

The City's Financial Officer will co-host a presentation with an accountant from Carlyle Shepherd and Company to present the city's financial statements for 2016. The City's Community Planner will also seek to move a request for a variance permit for a property on 5th Avenue East to the final consideration stage.

You can review the background documentation for tonight's Regular Session from the Agenda Package for May 8th available here.
