Rampage to put undefeated streak on the line Saturday night

The last thing that a hot sports team wants is an extended break, where momentum can be dulled and the teamwork built up can become a bit lethargic owing to the lack of game day action.

The Prince Rupert Rampage face those elements this Saturday as they return to CIHL action for the first time in November, following a thirteen day break from their last match of October 28th.

And while practice is nice, nothing beats game day acton and tomorrow the Rhinos will be looking to return to their high tempo of play as they welcome the Terrace River Kings to the Jim for a 7 PM start.

Despite close to two weeks off the ice, the Rampage still hold the top spot in the league, their stellar record of 6 - 0 pacing them to 12 points in the standings, two better than the second place Williams Lake Stampeders.

Terrace comes to town looking to climb back towards .500 hockey, currently holding a 2-4 record and a fourth place spot in standings of the five team circuit, the River Kings hoping to start a wining streak of their own, having topped Kitimat 5-0 last week.

Key to their attack for Saturday night will be the play making skills of Colin Bell who currently is a co-leader on the Scoring leader list, Bell's five goals and thirteen assists make for eighteen points the same total as Williams Lake's Zach Sternburg.

Even with a couple of weeks removed from on ice battles, Prince Rupert is well represented in the top ten as well, with Cole Atchison, Jared Meers and Judd Repole all among the top tier of scoring so far into the 2018-19 season.

The lineups for Saturday nights game with the River Kings offers up the snapshot of where each player is at in this first third of the season.

As they do before every home game, the Rampage have dipped into the PRMHA farm system for their Prospect for the game, with Finley Murphy set to take to the ice on Saturday night.

Holding off the charge of the River Kings on Saturday will be an important thing for the home side, with the Rampage set for an eastbound road trip to the Cariboo next weekend.

Prince Rupert's squad hits the highway for games in Williams Lake on November 17th and Quesnel on the 18th, a stretch of the season that will provide for a stern test as the midway point of the year gets close.
