Winds on the waters of Cow Bay

The Neocaligus facing off against the wind on Tuesday at Cow Bay

The strongest of the gusts expected on Tuesday never seemed to materialize despite a Wind Warning in effect for much of the day, though every once and a while there was a reminder that the weather system passing over the North Coast wasn't that far away.

Still, a trip to the Cow Bay waterfront offered up a sample of the day's elements, making for a gusty day to be walking the boardwalk of the community wharf.

The Dock itself was all but abandoned, but for the presence of the Canadian Coast Guard Vessel Neocaligus, the fishery research vessel is used mainly for work on trawl surveys and fisheries management.
