City Council to review range of Committee appointments to be made


During the course of tonight's Prince Rupert City Council session, council members will review their options when it comes to appointments to ten Committee positions that they have to fill.

The first is the Northwest Regional Hospital District, with a request that Council transfer the appointment of Councillor Adey as an Alternate Director of the Board, over to Councillor Wade Niesh, the request is required in order to remain compliant with the Terms of Reference for the North West Regional Hospital District.

Other appointments to be reviewed on Monday night:

Prince Rupert Airport Authority -- one member of Council to be appointed to the Prince Rupert Airport Authority Board of Directors

Prince Rupert Library Board -- Council to appoint one member of Council to the Prince Rupert Library Board.

Civic Awards and Recognition Working Group -- The recommendation is that all members of Council will evaluate applications for the Civic Awards position and make recommendations to Council.

Performing Arts Society -- Council will appoint one member of City Council to the Performing Arts Centre Board of Directors

Recreation Commission -- Council will appoint three members of City council to the Recreation Commission.

Healthy Communities Committee -- Council will appoint one member of City Council to serve as co-chair on Northern Health's Community Committee.

Tourism Prince Rupert -- Council will appoint one member of City Council to serve on the Tourism Prince Rupert Board as a Director.

Northwest Regional Advisory Committee (NDIT): Council will appoint one director and one Alternate Director to serve on the Northwest Regional Advisory Committee as a representative of Prince Rupert.

BC Ferries North and Central Coast Advisory Committee -- Council will appoint one City Council member to represent Prince Rupert on the BC Ferries North and Central Coast Advisory Committee
