Three areas of the Northwest are under Wind Warnings for the overnight period and into Tuesday |
The overnight period and into Tuesday may see some strong winds arrive for the North Coast, Central Coast and Haida Gwaii, as an Alaskan low brings southerly wind with speeds of up to 100 km/h to the region by Tuesday morning.
Haida Gwaii may see gusts of up to 110 kilometres per hour as the system moves through.
The Wind Warning issued Monday calls for the system to exit the region by Tuesday afternoon when the winds are expected to weaken. Satellite tracking provides the path of the oncoming system, see video here.

Rain will accompany the system with up to 45 mm possible by Tuesday evening, the forecast is for the rain is to remain with us for the remainder of the week.
