Terrace RCMP seek assistance of the public in Fatal hit and run

Update Dec 21: RCMP in the Northwest have taken one person in custody and seized a number of vehicles, boats and trailers related to their investigation into the incident.

A fatal hit and run over the weekend west of Terrace has the Terrace detachment of the RCMP seeking the assistance of the public as they continue their search for the vehicle in question from the early morning hours of November 18th.

The victim was a man in his thirties, who was discovered in a ditch some four kilometres west of Terrace near the community of New Remo.

Terrace media outlets have identified him as Cameron Kerr a 30 year old Terrace resident.

The RCMP believe that he had been walking along the shoulder of the road, facing traffic when he was struck sometime between 3 and 8 AM on the 18th.

As part of their investigation the RCMP had asked that anyone who may have been travelling the highway at the time and may have information, or who may have dash camera footage of that period to contact them.

From that initial call out for assistance, members of the Terrace detachment have determined that the vehicle involved is that of a Ford F350 pickup, a model year of between 2011 and 2016, it will will have damage to the passenger side, which includes the mirror.

A boat trailer that is believed to have been attached to the pick up has also been recovered and is currently being examined by the Forensics unit. Additional investigators have been brought to Terrace to assist in the investigation.

Should you have more information for the Mounties you are asked to contact the RCMP at 250-638-7400 or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
