Love Prince Rupert takes the battle with online shopping to a local Trade Show

Next week marks the annual Plaid Friday project across North America, an initiative found in many smaller communities looking to keep a share of the shopping dollars at home by reminding customers who spend their time clicking on line and adding to cart, that there are local options available.

This year, the Love Prince Rupert organization is putting together an expanded vision for the Plaid Friday approach, hosting a Trade Show at the Northwest Meeting and Convention Centre, set to take place November 23rd from 4:30 to 8 PM.

The alternative to the Black Friday online frenzy has been put together in partnership with Northern Savings Credit Union, The City of Prince Rupert and Community Futures of the Northwest.

The evening will feature vendors on site, tempting food fare and prizes for those that drop in over the course of the the thee and half hours.

There is still room for local businesses to get involved, if you would like to reserve some booth space you are asked to contact diana.goncalves@princerupert.ca for more information, the deadline to reserve a booth in tomorrow, Friday, November 16.

More notes related to the November 23rd event can be found from the Plaid Friday Event page on Facebook, included in the updates are the latest listings of those already confirmed for the trade show.
