Four Prince Rupert groups receive funding from Northern Health's IMAGINE Grant Program

Northern Health released the list of successful grant applicants from its IMAGINE Grant Program and four local groups or organizations were selected for funding from the Prince Rupert region.

They will receive a share of the 102, 000 dollars allocated for  2014 in the Northwest, an amount to be divided up among Northern Health's 36 different community partners in the region.

The four from Prince Rupert include:

Bethel First Baptist Church, for their Healthy Lifestyle Choices (HEAL for Your HEART)
Prince Rupert Library, for its Medical Health Collection ReBuild (HEAL for your HEART)
Prince Rupert Seniors Centre Association, for their Seniors Wellness Forum (HEAL for Your HEART)
Prince Rupert RCMP, for its Long Board Safety Initiative (Injury Prevention)

Other Northwest locations also were awarded Grants through the IMAGINE Grant Program, you can review the full listing from across the Northwest and on Haida Gwaii from this media release from Northern Health.

You can learn more background on the IMAGINE Grants here.

And while the Imagine Grant Program announced its successful applicants for the year, there is still other avenues for local communities to access funding.

Northern Health recently announced a new grant funding program to help support healthy communities in Northern B. C.

Deadlines for two streams of funding for the Partnering for Healthier Community Grant are fast approaching, with February 28th the final day for applications.
