School District 52 launches Budget Consultation process tonight at Charles Hays Secondary

An update on the budget process at School District 52 is on the calendar for tonight, as School District trustees and officials host an information session at Charles Hays Secondary School this evening.

The Budget Consultation session will be using a World Cafe process, which allows for small groups to explore themes and offer feedback to District officials on how to address budget and Transportation Service issues.

Earlier this month, the School District noted that they are facing a significant budget shortfall for 2016/17, a financial concern which will require the School District to explore a number of areas for potential spending reductions.

One area that will be examined tonight, is that of transportation services in the School District,  with more on that area of interest to be reviewed as part of this evenings information session

The consultation on the Preliminary budget process starts at 7 PM in the Multi Purpose room at CHSS.

Some background on the budget from 2015-16 can be found here, while the process of the School District consultation from one year ago can be examined here.
