Stormy Weather brings departure delay for Northern Expedition

Stormy Conditions have delayed the
Northern Expedition today
Weather conditions across Hecate Strait have BC Ferries holding the MV Northern Expedition in port at Prince Rupert until at least the noon hour today.

The original departure time of 10 AM was pushed back the two hours this morning with a Service Notice issued by BC Ferries, the arrival time at Skidegate has been changed to 7 PM this evening.

Though the times are subject to change depending on the conditions as the day moves along.

A Storm Warning is currently in effect as part of the Marine Forecast for Hecate Strait and the surrounding waters of Haida Gwaii, with Winds currently at 40 to 50 knots, they are expected to diminish to 25 to 35 this morning.
