????The lack of a flow of information related the ongoing advisory over the city's water supply is making for some confusion and mixed messaging on social media of late; with residents wondering as to the status of the water which had once again suffered turbidity issues in August.
As we noted last month, the City of Prince Rupert and Northern Health had issued a notice at the time advising of the situation which followed the significant weather event of Mid August, with the initial notice posted to the City of Prince Rupert Website and Social media page on August 17.
An update of sorts came on August 28th, as well as on September 4th, when the city advised that the ongoing Advisory remained in effect until further notice.
Since then, it's been a topic that has been off the radar for the city (and council members it seems), with little background for the public offered as to the level of testing, frequency of testing or what the results may have provided for.
Also lacking since mid August has been any advice for residents, towards when the City hopes that they may once again skip the boiling of their water process.
The water concerns didn't make for a discussion topic at City Council's only meeting for August, with the Council membership making no mention of the situation for the public.
Though if inclined, Mayor and Council could offer up some advice and counsel tonight when they gather for their only Council session in September.
