Impending Adverse weather to keep Northern Adventure in port

Sailings on hold out of Prince Rupert as Marine
Warnings cancel sailings

Some nasty weather on the way for the North Coast and Haida Gwaii has put sailings of the Northern Adventure on pause, with BC Ferries issuing a Service Notice for the Prince Rupert to Skidegate sailing earlier today.

The advisory noting that the 10 PM departure tonight from Prince Rupert and the 10 AM return trip from Skidegate have been cancelled.


Churning off shore and bearing down on the North Coast and Haida Gwaii is a significant marine system which has already generated Storm warnings for area waters.


The Warning notes that southeast winds will increase through Tuesday afternoon from 35 km/h to 55 km/h by the overnight period, Seas will build up to 5 metres at the height of the storm.
