Thursday was No Play Day at the Park, with Mariner's Playground closed for repairs

The Mariner's Park Playground was off limits yesterday
as City staff made repairs to the surface area

Prince Rupert's youngest residents would have found disappointment on a Sunny Thursday afternoon yesterday, that as the City of Prince Rupert had Fenced off the popular Mariner's Park Playground for use for the day.

The closure of the downtown play area was required owing to the need to repair the surfacing material underneath the playground apparatus, a process which required some time to set and some nice weather.

The playground was renovated in 2018 and was the scene of community vandalism shortly after it opened.

The Mariner's Park site, like all other parks was closed in the early days of the COVID outbreak, it was returned to use in June.

More items of note from the City of Prince Rupert can be reviewed from our Council Discussion page.
