Skeena MLA Ellis Ross remains shadow cabinet critic on LNG amid Liberal shuffle

The BC Liberals have shuffled around some of the duties for MLA's with the prospect of a fall session on the horizon and maybe even a provincial election if current political rumblings prove true.

The Liberal leader Andrew Wilkinson rolled out the revised line up of critics on Thursday and while a number of MLA's have been assigned new duties, Skeena MLA Ellis Ross will remain in place as the BC Liberal shadow critic for LNG, Resource opportunities and Responsible development.

Mr. Ross has been the BC Liberal's point man on LNG Resource development and has often spoken towards themes of responsible development and the employment opportunities that resources could offer to the North, as well as how that would benefit the province as a whole.

The new portfolios for some of the other BC Liberals highlight the areas where the party may be looking to find some opportunities to offer a different approach to governing, should Premier Horgan follow through on some of the election speculation currently being found across the province.

The shuffle of the shadow positions also reflects a further changing of the guard for the BC Liberals, with a number of former cabinet ministers of the Christy Clark era set to step aside from politics once the next election writ is dropped.
