Prince Rupert RCMP at Moresby Park on Found remains case file

The Prince Rupert detachment of the RCMP, along with the assistance of the Terrace Police dog Service are currently working scene in the Moresby Park area of the city.

In an advisory issued this morning, they outline that after the discovery of a shoe and piece of clothing a further extensive search revealed human remains in the park site around noon hour on Thursday.

As part of the investigation the BC Coroners Service has been contacted and are conducting a concurrent investigation to determine the identification and cause of death.

During the course of the investigation, a police presence will be in place in the Moresby Park area through the next few days.

The Prince Rupert detachment also advises that there is no risk or active threat to the public related to the ongoing investigation.
