The Northland Cruise Terminal will be the site for a Pop Up Ecology Centre from Mid July to mid August |
A plan for a mid summer Pop Up Ecology Centre to be hosted at the Northland Cruise Ship Terminal is currently seeking some financial help from residents of the community, with the North Coast Ecology Centre hosting a Go Fund Me Page to help get the project underway.
As we outlined last week, the plans for the pop up Centre and a longer range project to develop a permanent facility in the community made for the bulk of an enthusiastic presentation from Caitlin Birdsall of the Society, who provided City Council members with a fairly expansive look at what they have in mind and how the Society hopes to achieve.
Towards the summer project, the event to run from July 21 to August 15th will be in place at the Cruise Ship Terminal in the CowBay waterfront area which this year has been idled owing to the Canadian government's restrictions on cruise ship travel.
The Pop Up Centre will include a number or exhibits and feature some summer staff who will provide some interpretive background on what will be in place.
The initial goal for the Pop Up Ecology Centre and Aquarium plans is 5,000 dollars, with the community so far donating just shy of 4,000 dollars of that goal to date .
You can find out more about their fundraising here, while a wider overview of the North Coast Ecology Centre and their plans can be found from their Facebook Page.
