Prince Rupert RCMP deliver a reminder on options of online reporting program

The members of the Prince Rupert detachment of the RCMP have provided a reminder for residents of an option towards the reporting of some of the less serious crimes that take place in the community.

Through their Facebook page, the Prince Rupert RCMP have outlined once again how the Online Crime Reporting program works, noting how it is designed  for lost or stolen items under 5,000 dollars, as well as for property damage or vandalism that is also under that 5,000 dollar mark.

The program also takes driving complaints that are not in progress, and is available to residents of all of the areas served through the Prince Rupert RCMP's jurisdiction.

Should you wish to use the online resource, you can access it here.

More background on what the program is about is available here.

The online crime reporting tool was first introduced to British Columbian back in January of 2020,with the provincial RCMP seeking the opinion of the public on the what they though of the program back in March of last year.

So far, the Prince Rupert detachment has not provided any updates or background on how the project has been received in the community since the launch two years ago.
