North Coast MLA praises work of early education advocate Kate Toye

North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice paying tribute to the work of
Kate Toye and her advocacy for early childhood education

Jennifer Rice took advantage of the members statements period of the Wednesday session of the Legislature to pay tribute to a North Coast educator, with the MLA providing a thumbnail sketch of the work of Kate Toye with School District 52 and other communities around the North Coast.

In her comments for the Legislature Ms. Rice outlined some of Ms. Toye's work on education in the community and praised her advocacy for the children of the North Coast both in Prince Rupert and the surrounding area.

Her statement making note of the number of chid development initiatives that Ms. Toye has launched in the region over the last seven years, as well as to congratulate her on her move into the political arena in Prince Rupert.

The North Coast educator will be taking her advocacy for education to the School Board this month, having topped the votes in the most recent Municipal/School District election of October 20th, she and the other six members of School District host their first Board meeting on  November 7th, scheduled for the School Board Office from 7 to 9 PM.
