Highway 16 East of Burns Lake CLOSED due to vehicle fire

Highway 16 is Closed to traffic east of Burns Lake today as
crews work a vehicle fire on the highway

Northwest residents with plans for a journey east today, or expecting something from east of Burns Lake will be in a holding pattern until the Noon hour, with crews dealing with the clean up and investigation of a vehicle fire which has closed the highway through the early morning period.

The first advisory was issued shortly after 3 AM today.

In their latest update, Drive BC advises that the incident located just west of Priestly Hill will require that the highway remain closed until at least the Noon hour, which is when the next update will be provided.
