The pace of the Now Hiring notices making their way to the City of Prince Rupert website these days would almost suggest that they host a Jobs Fair at the Civic Centre, with the flurry of the Help Wanted job postings which started in September, continuing on into the fall season.
Such has been the frequency of the employment opportunities that the City has even taken to its Facebook portal to showcase the bounty of options available for work in any number of civic departments.
And indeed those notes are just a short sample of the listings of the fourteen and maybe more positions, which have been posted since January 1st, with the push to attract more staff picking up in September after a fairly quiet summer.
Two new postings make for the newest of arrivals at the City Hall Human Relations desk, with the city now seeking an Accountant for the City's Finance Department and a 911 Dispatcher to work out of the City's Fire Hall on a casual basis.
Both are part of the CUPE Bargaining Unit, with the Accountants position featuring a starting wage of $35.28 per hour, while the 911 Dispatch position pays at $33.85 to start.

The City has an interesting approach to its employment process, rarely ever making mention of the departures of city staffers, or heralding the arrival of the successful candidates for the advertised position.
Making the employment theme from City Hall at times somewhat akin to sliding someone into the Witness protection program it seems.
