Northern Savings Credit Union salutes Prince Rupert's Eddie's News as their Business of the Month

Another note of acclaim for a local Prince Rupert Business, with Eddies News getting the nod from Northern Savings Credit Union as the financial institutions Northwest business of the Month.

The family run operation has been in business since 1985, though the Eddie's Name goes back even further in the community; as they adjust to changing times the current generation of the Sharma family has provided for a range of new projects that keep customers coming back often to seen what's new.

With their selection as a business of the month, Eddies will gain access to a range of helpful assistance from Northern Savings.

Included in the Business of the Month package:

A Minimum of two Social Media posts during the month showcasing your unique business

Giveaway (valued at $100) via Northern Savings’ Facebook page (e.g.$100 gift certificate to your business, or a discount offered to your customers)

One coffee break for your employees, consisting of Northern Savings providing coffee and a snack for your staff one time during the month

Information about your business on our website and displayed on our in-branch digital displays

A business health check-up – accessing lending, wealth management, and insurance experts to ensure your business is where you want it to be

This month will be a particularly busy month for Eddies, with the Book section of the store destined to be much visited part of the store, with a string of Prince Rupert authors prominently featured in the potential gift giving selections.

In recent months Eddies has stocked a number of local titles from local publishers Muskeg Press.

Included in the impressive volumes of work,  the Rudy Kelly release from earlier this year of All Native , as well as his participation in a collective work called Influenced: Stories from the lockdown, along with Shannon Lough and Conar Rae Harris

As we outlined earlier this week, soon to be on the shelves will be The Lemon Tart, a new book from local educators and authors Sarah McChesney and Laura Wiebe.

Judging by the talented authors and the number of local works coming out, they may have to create a special Prince Rupert section for the Second Avenue West location.
