Shawatlans Road to Recycling Centre/Industrial Park remains closed

Shawatlans Road is closed in two locations restricting
the flow of traffic from the city to the Industrial park

Residents looking to access the North Coast Regional District Recycling Centre or some of the industrial locations in the Prince Rupert Industrial Park have had to take the high road this week.

That as Shawatlans Road which connects the area with the city from the SPCA eastbound has been closed since Sunday evening, blocked at both directions while some form of industrial activity takes place near the Road Maintenance Storage area along the south side of the roadway.

So far, the City of Prince Rupert has not issued any kind of advisory on the status of the road, or when it will be reopened to traffic, or the nature of the activity taking place in the area.
