With the Federal Transport Committee preparing to hold hearings into Rail Safety in the weeks ahead, Skeena-Bukley Valley MP Taylor Bachrach will be taking the pulse of communities across the region next week, setting May 20th as the date for his Northwest Town Hall.
The MP outlined his plan Wednesday through his Facebook page with a short overview of his plans.
On Monday, Prince Rupert City Council explored how they may wish to approach the topic, noting of the need for a collaborative effort with communities up and down the CN line across the Northwest.
The City Council has also made note of Councillor Nick Adey as their lead on the engagement on rail safety, also offering to relay information related to the Town Hall and the hearings as they become aware of it.
Mr Bachrach relayed the Committee's plans earlier in May, the schedule for the Committee has yet to be updated to reflect their plans for the hearings.
