As part of their ongoing training program at the Prince Rupert Fire Hall, local firefighters are providing a bit of a glimpse into the behind the scenes efforts to remain fit and ready to take on any emergency situations that arise in the community.

In their latest Social Media update the PRFD outline some of the range of firefighting gear that they don for calls around the city, a situation that as they note can mean carrying an additional 100 pounds of gear for many hours in extreme conditions.

The item notes that the profession is akin to becoming Industrial athletes, requiring extensive training to address the challenges provided when the bell rings for a call.
