As it has been for the last few entries on the Closed to the public listings, the session tonight is to explore four themes from the Community Charter which require the session to be held in Camera and out of the public spotlight.
Personal information about an identifiable individual who holds or is being considered for a position as an officer, employee or agent of the municipality or another position appointed by the municipality
Labour relations or other employee relations
The receipt of advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communication
necessary for that purpose
Negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service
that are at the preliminary stages and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be
expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public.
The ongoing discussions related to those themes, have taken the Council members behind closed doors for three consecutive sessions now, adding to the expanding gap between the Public and the Closed sessions which we are advised about for City Council this year.
With today's Closed session, the total now marks 16 Public Open Sessions, 18 Closed Sessions for 2021.
