Northern Savings Credit Union celebrates Credit Union Day with funding for programs across region

It's a day of celebrations today for Northern Savings as
the financial institution takes note of Credit Union Day

The Prince Rupert based financial institute Norther Savings is celebrating Credit Union Day today with a focus on community, following their vision statement of 'neighbours helping neighbours to build sustainable communities" by supporting communities ...

As part of their celebrations of the day, Northern Savings has announced some funding for a range of programs in Prince Rupert, Haida Gwaii and Terrace, with the following groups to share in $6,000 in financial assistance in their work:

Masset: Chief Matthews School (Haida Language program)
Prince Rupert: North Coast Health Improvement Society and
Prince Rupert: The Friendship House (Free Spirit program)
Queen Charlotte: Island Wellness Society
Masset: Chief Matthews School (Haida Language program)  
Terrace: Terrace Community Foundation

As well, Northern Savings notes that as the credit union system is an international one, that they believe it is essential to support co-operative projects at home and around the globe. 

Towards that they are also directing $1,000 in funding to the Canadian Co-Operative Foundation’s (CDF), COVID-19 Food Security Project.

The four branches of Northern Savings are also using Small Business week to celebrate the achievements of business owners and operators across the entire Northwest. 

And to help spread the word of the many business in the region they are offering up four gift certificates to be draw for later today at the Prince Rupert head office.
