Power Bump knocks power out for Prince Rupert over five minute period

A swath of red was the colour of the BC Hydro service map
earlier today following a transmission circuit failure on the system

Update: By 1:47 PM BC Hydro had listed service as restored

The lights flickered and then went out at 12:45 Wednesday, sending the entire Prince Rupert/Port Edward region off the power supply until a connection was returned five minutes later.

The incident listed on the BC Hydro outages page as a Transmission Circuit failure and is currently under investigation.

An indication that the community is on its back up power supply from the station just outside of the city's limits while crews assigned to the work explore the situation further
