It has been the talk of the town since October 6th and today, the BC Lottery Corporation shared the name of British Columbias latest member of the millionaire plus club, noting the financial windfall for Prince Rupert's Juanita Parnell.

The Rupertite matched up all six numbers, a set which she has played for twenty years with the October 6th  649 draw.

And as those balls dropped into their spot at the Lotto 649 Draw headquarters Ms. Parnell was on her way to sharing the 11 million dollar jackpot with an Ontario resident, her take from the night 5,790,419 dollars and ninety cents.

The lucky winner told the BC Lottery Corporation of a few restless nights following the win, as well as what  her lottery strategy was for the draw.

“I was in a rush [to buy my ticket]. I had actually forgotten and was hurrying to buy [before sales closed for the draw], and was worried I would miss the numbers.

As well she relayed some of her plans for the jackpot winnings, which will include a special trip for her grandchildren.

"I’d like to take them to Disney World in Florida, preferably during the non-storm season. We’ve never been able to go on a vacation together all at once.”

For those wondering where the ticket of good fortune came from, it was purchased downtown at the West End Grocery on Second Avenue West.

The BC Lottery Commission also has a video interview with Ms. Parnell which you can review below:
