The city's investment into downtown and Cow Bay lighting gets a bit more exposure now that the days are shorter, the nights are longer and the skies are a bit darker, with the Third Avenue stretch of lighting shining brightly this morning in the downtown core.

It was back in June,  that we first made note of the installation of the decorative lights along the Third Avenue core, with the focus for the light show travelling from 8th Street to McBride and along the stretch of Third into Cow Bay.

At the time, the rope lighting project was described as one designed to bring vibrancy to the two areas of the city.

Now that we're into the season of shorter days and longer nights, those travelling through the area will have a longer period to take in the light display.

The project is part of the City's 2030 Prince Rupert Vision program, you can follow some of the progress for the elements of that program from our archive page here
