Public Hearings, Council Session kick off the year for Port Edward

The District of Port Edward will launch 2023 with a busy night this evening, with two public hearings set to open the night at 6PM in the District Council Chamber.

The pair of land items are related to zoning issues for property at Alder and Pacific, as well as a property on Spruce Avenue.

We outlined the nature of both Hearings last month offering up a look at what's ahead for discussion.

7 PM brings the first Regular Council Session for the District for this year, with the District's Council members set to review a number of correspondences and requests for support.

The New Service Level Policy for the Port Edward Fire Department is also up for discussion,  along with a report from the Chief Administrative Officer will update  the community on a number of items over the last month.

Bylaw issues, including one related to Campground regulation are also up for review.

Items addressed as part of the public hearing held perviously in the evening will also be discussed as part of the Regular Session.

Council members will also receive a report on some of the Highlights of the December North Coast Regional District Session.
