Countdown to Lions Club Blue Knuckle Derby Time underway ... with December 27th the day to hit the waters near Prince Rupert

 

Blue Knuckle Derby tickets were on sale in the
entrance to Canada Safeway this week

It's one of the most popular of North Coast Holiday Traditions, a chance to sweep away some of the post Christmas fog, head out on the water and reel in the Prize winning catch for the Lions Club's Annual Blue Knuckle Derby.

The annual fundraiser for the Prince Rupert area Lions Club is dedicated to the memories of Marc Desautels and Jeff Carlson.

The event set for Wednesday, December 27th takes place in tidal waters near Prince Rupert from Daylight until Dark.

The top prized for the largest Cleaned Salmon is 1,200 dollars cash, 1,000 dollars goes to the second place finisher, 500 for third.

There is also a large volume of door prizes to be given away following the event for those who have purchased tickets.

The weigh in takes place at the Canfisco Parking Lot on George Hills Way from 3-6

The Prize draws to follow on the Lions Facebook page starting at 7:30PM

Tickets for the event go for 25 dollars available from any Lions Club member.
