Wind Warning issued for Saturday for North Coast, Central Coast and Haida Gwaii

After a pair of warnings from last week that didn't quite live up to the billing for the Prince Rupert area, will the third time be the charm? 

Environment Canada has once again put forward a WIND WARNING, this one for Saturday advising of Strong Winds from the Southeast at 80 km/h gusting at times to 100 km/h for early Saturday then easing by the afternoon.

The Winds are part of an approaching front that is going to create a range of weather from Vancouver Island to Haida Gwaii and across to the North Coast,.  

The Warning for Prince Rupert, one of a number of such alerts and Special Weather Statements from Victoria to Whilster to Lax Kw'alaams.

The Friday overnight/Saturday forecast calls for rain and up to 20 mm of precipitation, giving way to sunny skies for Sunday and Monday before more rain arrives



The Wind Warning for those on shore, also makes for a STORM WARNING for those on the water with Hecate Strait anticipating winds from the Northwest  at 10 to 15 knots today,  increasing the Southeast wind of 50 knots this evening and 60 knots overnight.

They should diminish by late Saturday afternoon into the evening.

The Storm will Bring seas building to 10 metres  through Friday evening and overnight before subsiding to 4 metres by Saturday evening
