First Day of Winter arrives, but the Christmas vibe is that of a Green backdrop not White

There will be no testing out of new sleds at the Hills of
Lax Kxeen or the Golf Course this Christmas.
The Forecast is for Green and Wet through the week ahead

Today marks the official start of another Canadian Winter, the shortest day of the year, and one for many locations that means cold temperatures and snow will soon be familiar themes.

But as we head towards Christmas, for the North Coast, Bing Crosby's White Christmas is going to just be another Christmas song and not a weather forecast.

Just Days before Santa makes the trip south, the landing areas of the Prince Rupert area will offer little challenge, with no snow or ice to impede him on his travels.

Ours is a wet, but warm Holiday forecast, with A Christmas Day High of 7, which will also mark the low for night. Periods of Rain mark much of the week ahead, staring today with Rain at times Heavy through the afternoon and evening.

The Warm Temperatures will continue through New Year's Eve and into the first week of 2024.

You may come across some snow if you have holiday travel inland with Terrace anticipating periods of Snow or Rain depending on the weather systems progress for Christmas Day.

The Snow forecast seems to improve a bit further east with Smithers looking at flurries or periods of snow through the Christmas period.
Follow the Environment Canada website for updates on the weather as the holiday period moves forward.

As well follow Drive BC when it comes to any road conditions for points east of the Port Edward turnoff.
