Back on top in the CIHL West, the Prince Rupert Rampage will be looking to hold onto that placement this weekend as the Rhinos get back on the bus for the near four hour drive to the Hazeltons on Saturday.

The Rampage head off for the newest rink in the CIHL circuit, set to work to keep the loyal and boisterous Wolverine fans in the the Upper Skeena Rec Facility quiet for the sixty minute showdown.

Prince Rupert enters in the weekend play coming off an impressive two game road trip last weekend which saw them take victories from stops in both Quesnel and Vanderhoof.

The game Saturday night is an important one for the hometown Wolverines who remain in the thick of the race for first in the West, just four points off the pace that is being set by Prince Rupert and two behind Terrace.

The Wolverines have an explosive offence, led by Tanner Wort who has 8 goals, 8 assists and sixteen points so far in the CIHL season, that on just six games played!

Wort currently is tied for second place in the overall scoring race, just one point away from the top spot.

Likewise, Prince Rupert has a player not far from the pinnacle in the CIHL Scoring Race, with Judd Repole holding at fifth spot for the moment, his seven goals and seven assists keeping him just three points out of the top spot.

Both teams have strong defensive records so far this season; the Rampage with 30 Goals Against, the Wolverines 37.

Prince Rupert will have to watch their tempers though, they have been assessed a league leading 291 minutes in penalties over their 9 games so far, that could work to the Wolverine advantage ready to put their power play to work if the opportunity arises.

The Rhinos have the edge in the nets going into the weekend, with Kieran Sharpe hosting a 3.50 GAA mark, compared to Keano Wilson in the Wolverine goal.

Puck drop at the Upper Skeena goes at 7:30 Saturday night
