Twin wins on the Road over the weekend push Rampage into First Place in West

The second time on the road for the Prince Rupert Rampage brought much more enjoyable results with the Rhino's taking both games of their journey east to Quesnel and Vanderhoof.

The weekend success began in Quesnel, where the Rampage evened up their road record with the Roos,  taking a closely contested Saturday match up by a score of 3-2.

Hunter Johnson led of what would be a busy weekend for the Rampage sniper, with a period one marker at 4:45 with the assist going to Thomas Robinson. The goal the only one for the first twenty minutes.

Period two was a back and forth affair but neither team could find the back twine, making the middle frame a scoreless affair.

The final period made for an offensive push for both teams, Prince Rupert jumping to a 2-0 lead thanks to Tyler Ostrom's marker at 1:43 assisted by Jared Meers and Thomas Robinson.

The Roos finally found their range one minute later giving notice that the game wasn't over just yet.

The Rhino's put their stamp on the game at the 9:54 mark, Jared Meers with the goal, Kory Movold and Thomas Robinson with the helpers to make for a 3-1 lead.

There was one last push by the Kangaroos, Quesnel pulling to within one at 17:18 but that would be the extent of the comeback as Kieran Sharpe shut the door to complete the Rampage Road win.

The midway part of the final period was the busiest for the referees with tensions rising with the physical play. By game end, the Rampage sat out 14 minutes on 7 infractions, the Roos served 8 minutes on 4 infractions.

The hard night of work in Quesnel had no impact on their afternoon match up the next day in Vanderhoof with the Rhinos finding the range on the net often on the way to 7-2 victory over the North Stars.

The afternoon of scoring began early, with a Hunter Johnson goal at thirty eight seconds, assisted by Cole Morris and Reid Lindsay.

Nechako would tie it up less than thirty seconds later setting the stage for a back and forth first period.

An unassisted goal by Judd Repole at the ten minute mark put the Rampage up by a goal, though the North Stars pulled even just a few minutes later.

Prince Rupert put the wrap on period one with a Cole Morris goal at the 19:11 mark, the assist going to Judd Repole.

Period two was all Rampage, Hunter Johnson has back on the scoresheet at 2:16 of the middle frame the assists from Jacob Santurbano and Jared Meers.

Eleven minutes later, Kory Movold was adding to the Rhino total, his goal at 13:48 came with assists from Thomas Robinson and Jared Meers, putting Prince Rupert ahead 5-2 after forty minutes.

The Rampage shut down the Nechako offence in the final period, while adding to their lead.

The first was an unassisted Tyler Ostrom marker at 13:46, followed by Drew Fudger's finale for the night, with Braden McAmmond and Colten Waldhous with the helpers.

Brayden Ferguson picked up the win in the Rampage nets.

The penalty parade was relatively light, with the third period the nastiest of the three.

By games end, the Rampage had served 13 minutes on six infractions, while the North Stars were assessed 11 minutes on 5 infractions.
