Incumbent Mayor Lee Brain confirms plans to seek second, four year term as Mayor of Prince Rupert

Mayor Brain has announced he will seek another four year term,
with much of his campaign to be based on further steps in his Hays 2.0 plan

On the first day of the nomination process for the 2018 Municipal election, Mayor Lee Brain has made it official, he will be seeking his second, four year term of office.

The Mayor outlining his decision through a social media post shortly after 4 PM today.

In the post to his political Facebook page, Mayor Brain calls on the work done related to Watson Island, the ability of council to secure long term revenues and infrastructure grants, as well as the challenges that lay ahead when it comes to rebuilding the city's infrastructure in the years ahead as key elements of the last four years at the helm of Prince Rupert city Council.

Much of his campaign seems destined to call upon his Hays 2.0 Blueprint, which he makes note of in the announcement, stating that he believes "this path is the way forward for positive change in our community".

The Mayor noted how his April Blueprint provides for his view of how the community should move forward over the next four years to take the community to what he describes as the next level.

As part of his declaration of his plan to contest the election, he calls on the support of those in the community who share  his Hays 2.0 view to join him in his bid to serve the community for another four years.

The full statement announcing his candidacy can be reviewed here.

So far, Mr. Brain is the only declared candidate for the Mayoralty to this point leading up to the October 20th vote.
