Northwest Community College hosts High School students today

High School students at Charles Hays and the Pacific Coast School can learn more about the opportunities available at the local college today, as Northwest Community College welcomes grade 10, 11 and 12 students to the campus.

Students from SD52 will have the opportunity to learn more at college life at the NWCC, through about 25 different workshops that are being put on by staff, all providing a glimpse as to the wide range of program offerings that the college has to offer residents of the Northwest.

The annual Welcome to NWCC sessions offer high school students a hands on opportunity to gain some ideas as to how they may wish to further their studies.

Among some of the popular reviews that the college has to offer are samples of such programs as their Northwest Culinary Arts program, as well as the variety of offerings in the Trades program, including their heavy machinery simulator.

As well, NWCC will provide an overviews of the Applied Coastal Ecology Program and of the offerings of the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art, the highly regarded Arts program that the college offers.

Today's sessions run through the day from 9 AM to 3 PM.
