Prince Rupert RCMP seek the assistance of the public regarding damage to Port Edward Highway Sign

The Prince Rupert RCMP is asking for the assistance of the public on a case file of damage to public property from last month.

With the local detachment looking for information on damage to the electronic Highway sign just past the Port Edward turn off on Highway 16.

The incident was reported to the RCMP on October 23rd and upon attendance to the call, the responding officer discovered that damage estimated at close to 11,000 dollars had been inflicted upon the overhead LED electronic information sign on Highway 16 leading eastbound to Terrace.

The investigation thus far has determined that the damage was caused by a .22 caliber firearm or pellet gun, the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the RCMP at 250-627-0700 or through Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
