With the one year anniversary of the 7.7 Haida Gwaii quake having just passed, tonight makes for a timely opportunity for North Coast residents to review their preparations should the earth rumble again.
This evening, the City of Prince Rupert, Emergency Management BC and Environment Canada team up to host a Tsunami Information Session at Northwest Community College starting at 6:30 PM.
The focus for the two hour session called Tsunami 101, will be on how to prepare for the next time the Northwest is struck by earthquake activity and the potential of a damaging tsunami arrives.
As part of tonight's gathering a number of guest speakers will provide valuable information on the theme, provide an example of the importance of weather radios and answer any questions that forum participants may have.
You can review more of what to expect from tonight's session from our blog post of October 21st.
