And the counting will soon be done

Prince Rupert's by-election campaign comes to a conclusion this evening, with the polls closing at 8 PM, the task of tabulating the ballots to follow shortly after the doors close to the Auditorium polling stations.

For those living in the Prince Rupert area, results will be posted in two formats, through CityWest's cable 10 community events channel or through the city's election update portal electionsprinceuprtca

The City of Prince Rupert outlined it's plans for the vote count by way of a twitter note posted to their feed on Saturday afternoon.

Most likely the results should be fairly quick to come in, with the announcement of which one of the six candidates for office will be successful in claiming the Council seat last held by NDP MLA Jennifer Rice.

For those looking to do a comparison of the vote totals tonight compared to the last municipal election, here is the archive of results for the Council race from November of 2011.

We'll update the electoral results as they become available through the evening.

Results from the 2013 by-election can be found here
