Northwest Community College issues call for Applicants for Board of Governors

With four member vacancies available on the Northwest Community College Board of Governors, the Northwest  educational institutional has outlined the application process for those that may wish to seek a position to help guide post-secondary education in the region.

With nine campuses from the Bulkley Valley to Haida Gwaii, Northwest Community College serves 34 communities across the region, offering a range of programs from trades to academics and general interest opportunities.

At the September 19th Board meeting, the NWCC Board of Governors made mention of the departure of Rhoda Witherly, who served for a number of years as part of the College's Board of Governors.

With positions now available, a list of desired attributes for those considering putting forward their names was provided, included on that list:

Experience in one or more key areas including Trades, Health Sciences, Construction and Law

Knowledge of First Nations issues and perspectives

Previous governance experience is also considered an asset

With a deadline for Applications for the four positions coming up on December 11th, potential applicants can learn more about the opportunities, as well as any qualification requirements, from Laurel Payjack-Mohler, the Executive Assistant to the Board of Governors.
