With the 2014 Tourist season behind them, the North Pacific Cannery Historical Site is turning its attention to a number of restoration projects planned for the off season.
Some of the work to be addressed starting in January includes restrain and construction work on the reduction tank platforms, working dock and a number of the historical houses and structures that make up the Port Edward historical site.
North Pacific is currently seeking up to sixteen labourers for restoration and construction work at the site for eight months. The start date for the project is January 5th, 2015 and the contract comes to an end on August 21st.
Basic carpentry skills, as well as some tools are required for the positions. Applicants for the labourer positions must be EI eligible o have been on employment insurance in the last three years.

In addition to the labour positions, North Pacific will also be looking for a Carpenters to assist in training and supervising their work crew.
Those applying for those positions will be required to be Certified Journeyman carpenters or bridge men/pile driver with a GST Number and have their own transportation.
In addition, those applying should have Level 3 First Aid, foreman experience, instructional experience and an understanding on the conservation of heritage buildings would be considered an asset.
As are the labour positions, the term of employment is for eight months, starting on January 5th, 2015.
