For Sarah Robin, the captain of the UNBC Women's Timberwolves, tonight marks the start of her stint as leader of the CIS team as they enter the regular season.
The former Prince Rupert residents was named to the captaincy during the training camp of the T-Wolves earlier this fall, as the Prince George based university the counting on her past years of experience to help ease the youngsters on the roster, and there are many, into the competitive CIS season.
Ms. Robin, with an eye to the season launch in Kamloops tonight, touched on her new responsibilities for Prince George television station CKPG earlier this week.
The UNBC squad has two games against their provincial rival, as the Thomson River Wolfpack host's the season opening tip at the Kamloops campus.
Those wishing to follow the action as Robin and her team mates take to the court can view tonight's game and that of tomorrow through the Canada West Streaming Network. (see link here)
Tonight's game starts at 5:45, Saturday's tip off is at 4:45 PM.
Ms. Robin was recently recognized as one of 15 Academic All-Canadians at UNBC, her second year of honours in a row, highlighting her strong ability to balance both academics and athletics at the Prince George campus.
