The countdown clock is running for the Prince Rupert Rotary Club, with showtime but five evening's away until local Rotarian's host the Annual Rotary Auction from Monday to Wednesday of next week.
The annual fundraising event from the Rotary Club has expanded its scope from the early days of a radio auction that was broadcast out of the studios of CHTK radio.
Over the years, as the program expanded it not only increased the days for bidding, but shifted to cable television and moved to new locations.
First to the convention rooms of the Highliner Inn and more recently to the Lester Centre, which will once again host the three nights of broadcasts starting Monday evening at 6:30 PM.
The online bidding has already been launched and you can spend your long weekend ahead reviewing the many opportunities that are available from the Rotary Auction website.
The website offers up a variety of ways to view your potential purchases, by Category, Donor, Value or Lot Number. As well, the Northern View featured a full list of the available lots as part of the weekly paper delivery of Wednesday evening.
The three nights of Auction time will bring out much of the Prince Rupert community, with a string of well known personalities taking to the table to read out the lots available for bidding and providing for some on air banter that makes the event a popular viewing experience for many in the city.
CityWest is broadcasting the three nights of the Rotary Auction through Channel 10 and streaming the event live through a webcast hosted by both the CityWest portal and Rotary website.
Money raised from the Rotary Club Auction is put towards Rotary initiatives in the community, you can find out more about Rotary Club programs and services from their website and Facebook page.
