There's a new look to the Fraser Street offices of the North Coast Community Services building thanks to some funding from the Prince Rupert Port Authority's Community Investment fund.
The agency which delivers social services to residents of the North Coast has put $15,425 to use through the installation of a new entrance and outdoor area adjacent to their offices, the latter project providing for safe, secure access and an improved outdoor activity area.
Sherry Beal, the Executive Director of the North Coast Community Services highlighted how the Port's funding would be utilized.
“This project has improved the quality of service our staff can provide, as well as the experience of the hundreds of clients and their children that utilize our programs,” said Sherry Beal, Executive Director of North Coast Community Services. “It’s our hope that these improvements will result in enhanced parenting abilities, infant and child development, and life skills development for youth across all of the communities we serve.”
The Port funding is part of the port's annual income that is directed towards local projects that contribute to the region's quality of life and long-lasting benefit to the area.
Don Krusel, President and CEO of the Prince Rupert Port Authority noted the important services that the North Coast Community Services offer to the region.
“We’re proud to support North Coast Community Services, which helps some of the most vulnerable and at-risk members of our region to improve their quality of life,” said Don Krusel, President & CEO of the Port of Prince Rupert. “Ensuring these vital services can continue to be delivered in a safe and efficient way is imperative to the health of the communities in which we operate, and we thank the staff and volunteers of NCCS for their unwavering commitment.”
