Seafest Parade and Downtown Events make for Saturday Road Closures

The signature event of Seafest Weekend is Saturday's parade which leaves the Prince Rupert Court House at 11 AM and travels along Second Avenue West, turning at Seventh Street and then coming back along Third Avenue to return to the Court House.

The journey which can take up to an hour and a half for the bands, floats and various groups to travel will require for a number of street closures and parking notices for the morning portion of Saturday.

The road closures and parking restrictions will also be in place for a number of streets along the parade route, as well as in the vicinity of the day long events taking place on Third Avenue West.

The Seafest Parade Route for Saturday stretches from the corner of McBride
and Second Avenue West to Seventh Street and back down 3rd West

Saturday Closures for the parade from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM 

McBride Street from 6th Avenue to 2nd Avenue West, 2nd Avenue West from McBride to 7th Street West.

Saturday Closures for Downtown Events from 7:30 AM to 6 PM

3rd Avenue from McBride to 8th Street, Fulton Street from 6th Avenue West to 2nd Avenue West, 6th Street from 1st Avenue West to 2nd Avenue West.

Sunday's Road Closures for Waterfront Events 

Bill Murray Way at 1st Avenue West travelling down to Rotary Waterfront Park.

No through traffic will be accessible on downtown streets from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

A marked Alternate route is in place for McBride and 6th Avenue West and Park Avenue at Smithers for traffic that is travelling east or west through the city.

Motorists are advised that vehicles parked on the roads designated as closed after 8 AM will be towed at the expense of the owner.

Prince Rupert Transit will be adjusting their schedule during the course of the parade check their website for any updates related to service.

    1. Sorry should have posted that info prior to heading downtown ...
      I was streamed live on CityWest's website and on channel 10 and I believe CFTK TV also had plans to broadcast it live ...

      Pretty sure they'll replay it at some time ...

      Was a good parade, quite enjoyable!
