RCMP and BC Coroner's service investigating discovery of deceased individual

A Friday morning call to investigate the discovery of a body in the Mount Hays area has now become a collaborative investigation for the Prince Rupert detachment of the RCMP and the BC Coroners office.

Background to the case file came from an information release from the North District office today, which outlined how Prince Rupert RCMP and other emergency personnel were called to the area at 10:30 this morning.

Upon arrival responding officers from the RCMP and members of Prince Rupert Fire/Rescue discovered the body, determining that it was deceased.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the person continues, at this time the identity and gender of the individual is not being released.
