Seafest Spotlight 2017: The Exhibits

Throughout the entire weekend a number of information displays can be found around the city providing cultural and educational items to take in among all the other activities that make for the busy, busy three days.

The Museum of Northern British Columbia is presenting an exhibit from Gitga'at and West Vancouver youth known as Site Unseen featuring a mural of merging voices the exhibit is available for free admission review on Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM at the 1st Avenue West museum.

The Canadian Coast Guard will be involved in Seafest in a number of locations on Saturday and Sunday. They host a Marine Safety Information booth  behind City Hall on Saturday from 11 AM to 3:30 PM. While those looking for the opportunity to tour a Coast Guard ship can head down to the Cow Bay Marina Dock from 12:30 - 3:30. The Coast Guard ship Captain Goddard MSM will be in dock both Saturday and Sunday for tours.

While you're at the Cow Bay Marina you can also explore the vessels of the Western Canada Marine Response  Corporation they will have some of their fleet tied up to the dock for your review from 1 to 3:30 PM

The Prince Rupert Port Authority will also be hosting visitors through the Seafest Saturday and Sunday with their Interpretive Centre providing a look at port activities along with prizes and games for the youngsters. You can check out their display from 1 until 3 PM.

Back downtown Oceans Network Canada will be set up between DFO and City Hall offering some hands on science and your chance to explore the sounds of whales, they will be on hand from Noon until 4 on Saturday and again from Noon to 4 on Sunday where they will be on the waterfront.

The Vancouver Aquariums North Coast Field Office is also nearby hosting their own display between DFO and City hall, drop by and learn more about their work on the North Coast Whales from Noon until 4 and again from Noon to 4 on Sunday where they will be on the waterfront.

Healthy Canada 150 will be at the corner of 4th Street and 3rd Avenue West from 1 to 4:30 PM Saturday where they will offer up a number of games to help you make healthy life decisions. They host their display from 1 to 4:30 PM

Fish Safe Display -- Organized by Fish Safe BC, at the corner of 3rd and 3rd the display provides information from fishermen to help fishermen arrive home safely, the display is open from 1 to 4:30 PM

Northern Health Connections will be two blocks down at 6th Street and 3rd Avenue West from 1 to 4:30 PM Saturday, they host a display to provide more information on the options for travel available for those that have out-of-town medical appointments.
