The primary vessel of the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station in Prince Rupert is in the shop for a little maintenance this month, as the local members get to work on a fairly extensive list of items on the to do list.
In a post to the the Station 64 Facebook page, the list of refit items to be tackled includes:
New Fire Suppression system
Jets Overhaul
Engine Work
New Navigation System
As well, a number of other items are to be taken care of during the course of what is expected to be only a one week period of down time for the Orme G Stuart.
While the work on the main vessel continues, the local Society continues to provide for Search and Rescue response if required from their smaller vessel. As they go about their repairs, the members of Station 64 are posting photos of the range of tasks that they are taking on.
You can follow along with the work here.
